BRUTTIUM. Kroton. Circa 530-500 BC. Stater (Silver, 28 mm, 8.09 g, 12 h). ϘΡΟ Tripod with three ring handles, legs ending in lion’s paws, and with two double volutes below bowl; on either side of the central leg, two snakes facing each other; around, dotted border. Rev. Same type as the obverse, but incuse and without legend, volutes and snakes; around, rayed border. Attianese 4. Gorini 1. HN Italy 2075. SNG ANS 238-41. SNG München 1421. Boldly struck and with a fine pedigree. Nearly extremely fine.
